What we found

The clip shows a lion walking up to a woman kneeling on a road at night and nuzzling her as she hugs it. On 21 August 2026 the X account @korkuvetitremee shared it with a caption saying the lion was meeting its old caretaker years later. The video had first appeared a day earlier, on 20 August, on the Instagram account @ten4ic, where it was not labelled as AI. Lead Stories traced it there and found that the same account posts other clips, labelled as AI, showing the same woman in unlikely scenes with animals. A Telegram channel under the same name posted a clip of a bear leaping at her out of the snow, captioned as an AI joke. On 26 August Lead Stories concluded that this video was made with AI too. When a touching animal clip names no place and no people, look up the account that first posted it and see what else it makes.

How it looksA huge lion walks up to a woman beside a car and cuddles her like a pet. Fact-checkers noticed a watch on the woman's right wrist that is there in one moment and gone in the next. Things that appear and vanish like this are a common sign of AI video.

Detector scores are often wrong, so they never decide a verdict here.

What we couldn’t establish

Exactly how it was made, and with which prompts, beyond what the sources above say. If you know more, tell us.

Bottom line
